For a number of years I taught a seminary course on Old Testament ethics. My regular routine was to begin with some general attention to the place and character of the law, followed by two weeks or so on the Ten Commandments before going on to look at various ethical and moral issues as they arise and are addressed in the Old Testament, topics such as the administration of justice, land and property, war and violence, man and woman, and marriage and family.
